Chambéry is the historical capital of the Savoie, a quiet university town with a mediaeval centre. Because of its situation in the Alps and the nearness of the Lac du Bourget an ideal place to combine French with skiing and other sports. In Chambéry many concerts and theatre plays are being organized. There is an important cultural centre. IFALPES is accommodated in a French school of management at walking distance from the centre.
